SMHS Football Parent/Player Meeting April 27, 2009, 7:00 pm

  • Welcome - Mr. Jay Grissom, Principal SMHS
  • Introduction - Neil Setzer, Head Football Coach
  • SMHS Booster's Club Draw Down - Saturday, May 2, 2009

  • Strength & Conditioning - Jamie Extine, Assistant Football Coach
  • Spring Skill Development - May 11-29 - Skill Development sessions will be announced by position. Each Session will run after school from 3:30 until 5:00 and is limited to 21 players per day.
  • Summer Weights - The weight room will be open this summer to give players an opportunity to work on strength and conditioning. The schedule will be flexible to accommodate player's summer work schedules.
  • Summer Practice - We are planning Summer Practice Sessions to work on football fundamentals. As we progress through the summer we will begin to develop our offensive and defensive schemes. Summer practice sessions will be three days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The sessions will begin June 15.
  • Appalachian State Football Camp - Individual Skill and Team Sessions in Boone July 6,7,8.
  • Fund Raiser to pay for ASU Camp - Gameday Marketing cookie dough sale May 18 through May 29.
  • 7 on 7 and Linemen Drills - We have two date scheduled for 7 on 7 and Lineman Drills with other schools this summer. The first is at Owen with other schools to be announced, Wednesday, July 15 at 10:00 am. The second is at Rosman with other schools to be announced, Thursday, July 16 at 5:00 pm.
  • Defensive Backs - 1 day Boot Camp, May 23, Charlotte Sports Center
  • Kickers, Punters, & Long Snappers - Carol White Clinic, May 23, Hayesville HS
  • Spring & Summer Objectives
  • Fall Practice for the 2009 Mustang Football Season - August 1, 2009
  • Touchdown Club - Bill Clarke
