Mustangs Drop to 0-3 in Conference

     The Franklin Panthers scored 21 points in the final 4:56 of the first half to extend a 14 -0 lead to 35 -0 lead at halftime. The final score was Franklin 38 Smoky Mountain 7.  Franklin was lead by Blaine Clark who had 185 rushing yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.   Quarterback Austin Bishop threw for three first half touchdowns.


     The Mustang offense struggled throughout the game.  However, they were able to put together an 18 play 63 yard scoring drive in the third quarter.  The Mustangs used a no-huddle offense with a  variety of formations on the drive.  The long plays of the drive included a 13 yard run by Al DeGraffenreid and a 13 yard pass play from Drew Londo to Rusty Mau.  Dakota Meadows, who lead the Mustangs with 16 carries for 52 yards, ran the ball five times on the drive and Ryan Milkey (7 carries for 28 yards) carried the ball four times on the drive including the last seven yards for a touchdown. 


     For the game Drew Londo completed 5 of 12 passes with four of the completions to Al DeGraffenreid.  Al also carried the ball 7 times for 27 yards.


     Defensive leaders included Tom Pawlowski who has 13.5 total tackles (10 unassisted and 7 assists), Carlin Shelton who was in on 9 total tackles (7 and 4) and Ryan Milkey who was in on 8.5 tackles (7 and 3).  The Mustang defense had five tackles for a loss in the game.
